The Journey
- 1953 - Owned, and operated a home-based beauty salon for 15 years. 1962 she began building political savvy and distinguished political relationships by serving as a volunteer on executive committees for William Warren Scranton, and in 1966 Raymond P. Shafer, Governors’ Elect. Both candidates won. In 1967 she served as a volunteer on Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller Presidential Elect Executive Committee, an unsuccessful run.
- 1967 - Founded and operated a not-for-profit organization; Tioga Community Youth Council (TCYC); a multi-service agency for gang members and other troubled youth for seven years. A smorgasbord of educational, social service and economic development programs were facilitated.
- 1970 - Designed and implemented seminars, and workshops in collaboration with National Training Laboratories, Philadelphia Police Department, Community Legal Services, and the National Conference of Christians, and Jews. Her 1970 training design entitled “Gang Youth and Police Live-In” was a week-end retreat for gang members and alleged brutal police. The design was filed in the urban archives at Temple University, other Universities within the United States, and in law libraries in eight countries.
- 1972 - Invited by the Late Honorable Mayor Frank L. Rizzo of Philadelphia and served as his Small Business Development Consultant and Assistant to Managing Director. She was appointed by the mayor and served on numerous prestigious boards, and commissions.
- 1986 - Co-chaired the Committee to Elect Alexander A. Farrelly for Governor in the United States Virgin Islands; he won. Retained by the Governor to set up, and operate St. John USVI, first Consumer Service Office, and was appointed by the Governor and served on the Tri-Island Vocational Education Commission.
- 1991 - Consultant for the United States Virgin Islands most prominent international developers of high-end residential housing, bed and breakfast inns, public housing, cays, and mall developments. Educated the community and the legislature of the developer’s missions.
- 1994 - Invited and served as President of the Tree of Concern International Foundation, Inc., (TCIF); a not-for-profit technical support charitable corporation registered in Pennsylvania; an outgrowth of TCYC.
- 1982 - Antioch University, BA Degree, trainer/training experienced in designing and facilitating solution oriented workshop and seminars. English speaking, computer literate, available to travel, media interview savvy, and public speaking poised.
