GREETINGS:
It is my pleasure
to extend my best wishes and personal regards to everyone gathered at the
Horticulture Center in Fairmont Park for the Annual Home Partnership-Customized
Mother's Day Summit and Awards Luncheon. I thank the Tree of Concern
International Foundation, Inc. for supporting this worthy event.
This
foundation, formed out of the urgent need to address the growing violence,
poverty, and hopelessness that plagued the neighborhoods of Philadelphia, has
become a beacon of hope for thousands of disadvantaged communities and their
residents. From organizing social programs for at-risk youth to operating Home
Partnership-Customized, the foundation has made the city we love a better place
for all people to live, work, and grow.
Home
Partnership-Customized offers older, self-sufficient women a safe and enjoyable
alternative to assisted living or living alone. HPC is a place that celebrates
independence, while providing a supportive and family-like environment in which
residents can enjoy their favorite activities, family, and friends. This
Mother's Day is the perfect opportunity for us all to remember the special
women in our lives and to ensure that their needs are met, just as they have
always done for us.
As Governor,
I thank the Tree of Concern International Foundation, Inc. for organizing this
special event and commend this year's Mother of Excellence Medal honoree for
representing the spirit of kindness and motherhood. Best wishes for an
enjoyable summit and a memorable Mother's Day.
EDWARD G. RENDELL
